UPDATE - 10/5 - Woot Got Sponsored !!!! :D

Thanks to Bill at MNPCtech.com
Image

So Monolith is getting old in the tooth, and I'm itching to get out during the nice weather and do some more modding.

As you may have seen I picked up a HAF932 recently for a bargain price (thank you Swifty ;)) so I'll be using that case. It's weird but this will be the first case I have ever modded, having scratchbuilt Monolith all those years ago.

I plan on doing videos as well as some money shots so we will see how a Modding Video Worklog pans out.

The colours will be Green and Black so any suggestions for a project name would be appreciated.

EDIT - NAME FINALISED, TITLE CHANGED

I'll be putting up some designs and what not later.

What about 'Malachite'? As in the green gem that often has black bits in it?

Kind of a cool word I think anyways.

I was busy in Sketchup although today I actually used tools..More on that tomoro.

As for the green I feel I was a little vague on the colour...its Bright Green, like Flourescent green rather than the british racing green of Kikass

Malachite can be quite bright, just say if you don't like the name. ;)

Sorry Adidan I always thought Malachite was like a dark green (serves me right for not googling). It'll certainly go on a shortlist :)

EDIT:

heres the paint I shall be using

Actually I was surprised by the variety in and between gems (I don't buy them you see :) ).

Turns out you can even get green diamonds....

Edit: That green looks like the sort you get on old hospital walls. What about 'Dark Asylum' then ;) :)

Wow that is bright green, you should get the blue too and go for a Tron look! You're gonna need some serious white undercoat to get that paint as bright as the lid mind.

Yep that green sure is bright :)

I found some scrap metal (from an old case) and just sprayed the green straight on. i'll post a pic later on.

Here's the first Worklog video. Hope you enjoy it

I'll see if I can put it up elsewhere so you can see it directly on here ;)

Nice vid! Making me want one of those cases.

On the colour scheme, Stace reminded me of something that's green and black... BEN 10!!!!

Woody - Ben 10...no thanks :P

So I've purchased a new camcorder..Hi-Def Worklog here we come :)

In the meantime heres some Sketchup drawings of my ideas. I'm still toying with the colour placement and sorry I don't have any access to rendering software.

Image

I'll be using Scythe Gentle Typhoons and painting them the lovely green to match. I'll also be braiding my PSU cabling green (not shown) and depending on what I can get watercooling hose wise I'll be looking for green again.

Image

You can see in the 2nd image that I'll be making a custom reservoir for this case and also possibly painting some of the radiator.

Suggestions, ideas, etc. bring em on. And of course a name idea too :)

Like the res idea! Two points on sleeving, mdpc-x, and 24 pin extension. These 2 things would have saved me all sorts of dramas!

http://en.mdpc-x.com/mdpc-sleeve/sleeve ... -green.htm

For the res, thought about green acrylic? Heard a lot about coloured coolants crapping up waterblocks. Or are you gonna light it green? Is there gonna be much lighting? You should try that paint with some UV light, bet it works :)

I will be buyin some stuff from MNPCtech and he has green sleeving. going to ask how it compares to mdpc-x stuff.

I know I'll be running clear liquid for precisely that reason, currently unsure on how the res will be coloured or lit etc.
