Well, most of you (or those who have been payng attention ;) )will know by now that I use 2 1 gig sticks of Team Xtreem PC2 5300 DDR2 667 MHz RAM. They're rated at DDR2 667 MHz (Duh...) at 3-4-4-8 w/2.2v. Again, most of you know that stock speeds are never enough for me :green:

Last year, the best I could get out of it was ~DDR2 1000 MHz at 4-4-4-12 w/2.25v ; DDR2 800 MHz at 3-3-3-x (x = 8 or 12, can't remember) w/2.25v, both memstest and prime stable. I'd given up because the ASUS P5W DH I used to use at the time couldn't manage to squeeze any more out of it. My Gigabyte DS3 was even worse...seemed like a slight incompatibility issue with that.

Anyway, seeing as I'm stuck at around 470 MHz on the FSB (for now, until I get another CPU to test with), I thought I'd have another play around with the RAM. Well, I found out that the P5K-E LOVES my sticks :green:

Previously, you've sll probably seen this screenie:

DDR2 1010 MHz (OK, 1008.x due to minor fluctuations), but it's 1010 in reality) at 4-4-4-12 w/2.25v Orthos Stable.

Last night I had another play and managed this:

DDR2 1100 MHz at 5-5-5-12 w/2.25v Orthos stable.

The last set of results impressed me, because I could never go much further than 1000 MHz before, no matter what the timings were.

I should mention now that these frequencies are also memtest stable, however memtest doesn't recognise my chipset and hence the frequencies and timings, so there's little point in posting pics here.

Tried DDR2 1200 MHz at 5-5-5-12 w/2.3v but I sometimes get an error or 2 in memtest test #8. Sometimes it'll pass, other times it gives errors. Gonna try a bit of burn-in, but I'm certain I'm gonna be able to get DDR2 1200 MHz out of these sticks with 2.4v or less. I don't really want to go above 2.4v for 24/7 use...it's not healthy for the chips.

Anyway, I'm gonna play around with my RAM for a bit. I want to find how far I can push them at 4-4-4-12 and 5-5-5-12 initially. Then I'm gonna have a play around at 3-3-3-12.

Should be fun :green:

Oh by the way, here are the stick (forgive the slightly lowish quality pics - were taken with my old K750i last year)

Outdated, yes. But is your laptop overclocked?

'53 Rosewood Red Pearlescent Polo 1.4 TDi Sport called Fritz. And yeah, that's overcloked too, by about 35 BHP.

I bought the set next up from these, the PC-2 6400 3-3-3-8 set. Although they won't run at 3-3-3-8 timings even at stock frequencies (don't ask, i've no idea why), they will soar all the way up to 1260mhz @5-5-5-12. Incredible RAM as always from TeamGroup.
